I started my career with a degree in marketing and a passion for design, but I quickly discovered that I was even more drawn to the technical side of bringing ideas to life. Building websites sparked my interest in development, especially when I learned how to connect the front end to a backend database — creating dynamic, living content without needing to rewrite static code. That experience motivated me to keep pushing my development skills further, so I could build smarter, more powerful solutions for businesses that want more than just a pretty site — they want something that works, grows, and evolves with them.

From 2008 to 2009, I took on a one-year contract that really accelerated my growth as a backend developer. During that time, I dove deep into learning new tools and technologies — mastering AJAX for smoother, more dynamic user experiences, working with ASP.NET and Infragistics NetAdvantage controls to build robust web applications, and expanding my knowledge of SQL Server and Web Services to handle data and integrations more effectively. That experience laid a solid foundation for me to evolve from a curious web tinkerer into a confident, well-rounded developer.

While working with Scholarly iQ, I was one of the early pioneers behind developing the first SUSHI web service for libraries to automate harvesting COUNTER reports — a contribution that even got featured in a NISO publication. This project gave me the chance to sharpen my backend skills further, working with technologies like XML and SOAP to build custom web services, and using ASP.NET and C# to design new publisher portals. I also deepened my experience with SQL Server, MVC, jQuery, LINQ, and Entity Framework — all of which helped me evolve into a more versatile developer capable of building smart, automated solutions for complex data needs.

From 2015 to 2022, I stepped into a senior developer role at SNL Distribution Services Corporation, where I really expanded my skills by diving deep into the logistics industry. During this time, I designed and built a custom ERP system that transformed the company’s old Microsoft Access setup into a modern .NET environment connected to an SQL Server backend. Working with tools like C#, MVC, jQuery, jqWidgets, and SQL Reporting Services pushed me to tackle complex business processes and build smarter, data-driven solutions that made daily operations more efficient and scalable. That experience strengthened my ability to solve real-world problems with clean, custom code — and it’s a big part of what shaped me into the versatile developer I am today.

Between 2022 and 2024, I leveled up my development game even further while working at Improving–Atlanta, an IT consulting company that exposed me to a wide range of cutting-edge tech. I tackled cloud-based development with Azure Functions, honed my scripting skills with PowerShell and Python, and got hands-on with Microsoft DevOps to streamline deployments and workflows. I also dove deep into SharePoint and Office 365, learning how to manage, migrate, and build modern enterprise solutions that keep businesses connected. Alongside that, I expanded my front-end toolkit with Angular and React, and stepped into the future of cross-platform apps by working with MAUI Blazor Hybrid for mobile development. This experience sharpened my ability to deliver versatile, modern solutions that work seamlessly in the cloud and on any device.

Since 2024, I’ve been focusing on freelance projects that push my skills to the next level and give me the freedom to build powerful, real-world solutions for my clients. I’ve been developing modern mobile apps, building dynamic Angular front-ends, and creating robust .NET Core backend APIs and class libraries. I’ve done extensive SQL work, writing complex stored procedures and designing normalized databases that keep data clean and scalable. One highlight has been building a cloud-based inventory management system with QR scanning — giving businesses a seamless way to track and manage assets from any device, whether they’re in the office or on the go. This hands-on work has sharpened my full-stack skills and strengthened my commitment to delivering practical, innovative solutions that make my clients’ lives easier.
